Heart Transportation LLC is an emerging Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Company that provides services for the aging and those that require transportation to and from appointments. We also offer transportation for seniors to get out to attend community events, see friends, run errands and visit healthcare professionals as a part of living the highest quality of life.
Heart Transportation does understand that maintaining independence is important - especially for those that do not have the desire or ability to drive due to many reasons. Heart Transportation can also help seniors maintain a connection with family, friends and loved ones.
We are highly trained professionals that will provide safe transportation - to ensure that seniors and all riders experience the level of freedom and mobility that they desire.
Heart Transportation LLC, will go above and beyond to provide services such as:

Transporting to and from appointments, including examinations, procedures, doctor appointments, dialysis, etc.

Grocery Shopping

Visiting family or friends

Running errands (such as shopping and/or picking up prescriptions, etc.)

Going to dinner or to the movies
We now have an electric wheelchair for our client's that are ambulatory but are not able to walk long distances. This is so that our clients can go strolling in the park, or mall shopping, etc. Give us a call for more information on this service.

For those who can walk but need assistance.

For clients who are significantly overweight and require special equipment.

INSURANCE FOR NON-EMERGENCY
MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION
We here at Heart Transportation LLC understand that insurance can be a lifesaver when it comes to paying for NEMT services. Many insurance plans cover NEMT if it is medically necessary. Check with your insurance provider to see what is covered.
Medicare and Medicaid:

Medicare does not cover NEMT unless they determine it is medically necessary and pre-approved.

Medicaid often covers NEMT services especially for those who need assistance to medical appointments, etc. In Virginia, Medicaid beneficiaries can access NEMT services through their managed care plans.

Heart Transportation is in the process of applying with Medicaid Brokers, but in the meantime we are accepting private pay clients. If you are in the following Cities and Counties below we look forward to assisting you with NEMT services.

The rates below are per person. Should you have another person(s) ride with you, there is a $5 one way / $10 roundtrip charge per person.
Child rates are:
0-3 years old are free.
4-12 years old are $5 per child.
Our local rates for the Danville and surrounding area are:
If your destination is within 1 - 4 miles from your pickup location the cost will be:
$5 one way or $10 round trip
Extra stops are $5
After hours fee $5
If your destination is within 5 - 10 miles from your pickup location the cost will be:
$12 one way or $24 round trip
Extra stops are $5
After hours fee $5
If your destination is within 11-15 miles from your pickup location the cost will be:
$13 one way or $26 round trip
Extra stops are $5
After hours fee $5
If your destination is within 16 - 20 miles from your pickup location the cost will be:
$14 one way or $28 round trip
Extra stops are $5
After hours fee $5
Holiday Fee - $5 one way / $10 roundtrip
We do have these items to rent:
Electric Wheelchair fee: $10 one way / $20 roundtrip
Car Seat/Booster Seat Fee: $5 one way / $10 roundtrip
Wait and Stay:
If you need us to wait and stay, the cost will be $7.00 per 1/2 hour. Maximum wait time is 2 hours.
Please try to give us at least a 3 hour notice for transportation services. If not, there will be a $5 charge added.
Cancelation:
If canceled within the hour of pickup, there will be a $5 charge.
If canceled once driver arrives at pickup, there is a $10 charge.
Rates per mile outside of the Danville area are available. Please call for those rates.
